Most people think that how you feel depends on external things.
They think “I’ll be happy when I lose weight”, “I’ll be happy when I get that promotion, that salary increase” etc.
But experiencing joy and peace in your life doesn’t depend on what happens in the world around you.
It depends on what happens inside you and you’re in charge of that.
You already have the key to unlocking those emotions regardless of whether you lose weight, get the promotion or whatever else you want.
The key is your vibrational frequency, and you can use it to change your life.
What is vibrational frequency?
It’s the state of your energy.
Quantum physics tells us that everything in the world is made up of energy, all vibrating at different frequencies. That includes human beings.
You have the power to control your own frequency.
It depends on your thoughts and your emotions.
There’s a scale of emotional frequencies with joy, peace and love at the top end and shame, guilt and fear towards the bottom.
How can you raise your frequency?
The first step is to notice how you’re feeling moment by moment.
You can’t change how you feel without awareness first.
The more you practise noticing how you feel, the easier it’ll be to notice when you’ve slipped into a low frequency state and you can do something about changing it.
Raising your Frequency
Here are some techniques you can use.
1. Setting an Intention
Each day, as soon as you wake up and before you open your eyes, spend some time setting the intention in your mind to live that day in gratitude, joy and peace.
You can picture yourself having a peaceful day and feel gratitude for a lovely day as if it’s already happened.
2. Gratitude
Keeping a gratitude journal is a well known practice, but what’s often missed by people is that it’s not just a mechanical exercise of writing down what you’re grateful for. You have to feel the gratitude.
So feel it while you’re writing down the things you’re grateful for, but don’t just save it for your journal.
Feel into gratitude whenever you notice something that you’re grateful for.
It isn’t possible to have a negative thought at the same time as feeling gratitude and when you’re used to feeling grateful you’ll notice that you start to attract good things into your life.
3. Change your Thoughts Exercise
You can do this exercise now to change your thoughts to the frequency of love.
It’s easy to do because it’s all in your mind.
Once you’ve read this paragraph, set a timer for 2 minutes then close your eyes and think of someone you love. Your partner, a child, a friend, maybe a pet. It doesn’t matter who as long as you love them. See that person or pet in your mind’s eye, and focus on how they make you feel. Sit with that feeling until the timer goes off before opening your eyes.
Notice how you’re feeling when you open your eyes. Maybe a bit warm and fuzzy? You might find that you’re smiling.
Love is a high frequency emotion so tuning your thoughts to it raises your frequency.
This exercise is a great way to change your frequency quickly. You can do it anywhere without anyone knowing.
4. Music
You can lift your frequency with high-vibe music.
Any music which lifts you up will do it.
You can also find specific frequency music on YouTube, tuned to frequencies such as love and joy.
It usually doesn’t have any words so it’s great for playing in the background when you’re working or getting ready for your day.
5. Do something fun every day
Joy is a high frequency emotion so doing something fun, something you love, every day is going to raise your frequency.
When I work with new coaching clients one of the first things I ask them to do is write a list of things they love to do and then commit to doing one of them every day. It doesn’t have to be anything big and it can be something different every day but actually doing it is what makes the difference.
If you’ve lost sight of what you love to do, think back to when you were a child and the things you loved to do then. Often the things we loved then we still love now.
Find a bit of spare time to sit and write down a list of things you love to do and then keep it somewhere easily accessible, whether it’s a handwritten list stuck on a notice board or notes saved on your phone.
The point of having the list is that when you’re stressed it’s easy to forget what you could do to raise your frequency. If you have your list nearby you can look at it to quickly find something you can do.
Becoming a high-vibe person
Frequency is all about how you feel.
If you want a future as a high-vibe person living in joy and peace, you need to feel yourself in that state.
As I said above, feelings don’t depend on external events.
You create the future you want to experience by feeling it first.
In order to create your future as a high-vibe person you need to practise feeling like one, regularly. There’s research showing that our brains don’t know the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined. You can use that to become the high-vibe person you want to be.
Visualise your future in the following way.
Close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth to help you relax.
Now think about what it would feel like to be a high-vibe person.
What would it mean for you? You’d probably be feeling calm, confident, loving your life and feeling fulfilled.
Picture yourself as the high-vibe person you want to be and feel how it feels to be them.
How do you look? How do you walk? What are you wearing? What kind of food do you eat? Do you carry on working while you eat your lunch or do you take a break and sit at a table? Do you keep hydrated? Do you go outside to breathe fresh air every day? Do you exercise regularly?
How do other people speak to you? How do you speak to them?
Really get into the details of how it feels to be the high-vibe version of yourself.
Then do your visualisation every single day. Not just seeing yourself but feeling that version of yourself.
The more you do this, the more details will come to you and the easier it will be to feel and become that version of yourself.
No-one can predict the timeline for you becoming this version of yourself but the more you practise being the high-vibe you, the quicker you’ll bring this into being because you’ll have become a vibrational match for it.
It’s not a case of “fake it till you make it”. This visualisation process is a rehearsal for your future.
And when you know how this version of yourself looks and feels, start being that person in as many ways as you can.
Don’t try to control things by putting a timeline on when you feel you “should” have become that person.
Just keep aligning your frequency with that of the person you want to be and if you keep it up, it’s inevitable that you’ll become that version of yourself.
